Riflesse tra cielo e specchio, tornano a Noto le “Visioni al Confine” di Luisa Mazza e Christian Zanotto

A seguito del successo di critica e pubblico riscosso alla sua prima presentazione, il coinvolgente evento installativo “Visioni al Confine” di Luisa Mazza e Christian Zanotto ritorna a Noto all'interno della suggestiva cornice della Ex Chiesa di Santa Caterina durante i vivaci giorni dell'Infiorata, il rinomato appuntamento della Primavera Barocca che avrà, nel 2016, respiro mondiale.

L'opera "Gocce Riflesse / Come in Cielo così nello Specchio", installazione proiettiva olografica di figure digitali animate su struttura scultorea, è stata concepita e realizzata da Luisa Mazza e Christian Zanotto in occasione della VI Edizione della prestigiosa rassegna "Nei Luoghi della Bellezza"; l' innovativa operazione di interazione, presentata dal testo critico di Massimo Scaringella, vede il dialogo tra due diverse modalità espressive, accomunate dalla relazione che entrambe intrattengono con la luce, lo spazio, la trasparenza e la riflettenza, a generare insieme l'inaspettata ed eterea apparizione di un empireo, imponderabile "luogo" sospeso e luminoso.

L'installazione si compone di "Gocce Riflesse", costruzione plastica di Luisa Mazza che mette in scena una nuova e contemporanea poetica di traslucidità, leggerezza, purezza e armonia ritmica, in relazione con "Come in Cielo così nello Specchio", intervento proiettivo olografico di Christian Zanotto in cui una schiera di alate figure digitali, argentei angeli pinnati, si anima in una coreografia di movimenti fluttuanti entro una sfera priva di gravità. La tessitura di limpide e cristalline gocce, modulata nei molteplici livelli di "strati atmosferici" di superfici lisce e curve, capta e riflette le lucenti entità, moltiplicandole e riverberandole nello spazio dello scenografico contesto barocco, dando vita ad una sorta di inedito e fluido affresco in perpetua mutazione.

I due artisti, dopo un riscontro di affinità e potenzialità espressive da esplorare, nell'arco di tre mesi hanno elaborato il progetto attraversando virtualmente i confini, coordinandosi in un lavoro di progressive verifiche e definizioni per mezzo di un rapporto di videoconferenze tra Italia e Olanda.

Come ha osservato il critico d'arte Massimo Scaringella nel testo dedicato all'opera: "Non è facile che due artisti decidano di presentare insieme e in un unico ambiente le loro creazioni trasformandole in un’opera unica [...] Luisa Mazza e Christian Zanotto hanno accettato questa sfida per interferire l’una con l’opera dell’altro e dimostrare che lo spettatore può così passare ad un altro piano dimensionale della materia [...] La dinamica ed evanescente virtualità, molto concreta, di Christian Zanotto incontra, nella complessa trasparenza dell'opera di Luisa Mazza, un gioco traslucido di universi che divengono, nello stesso modo in cui un caleidoscopio ci evoca quelle multiple e policrome scintille divine isolate che emergono dall’Uno neoplatonico".

Reflected between heaven and mirror: the "Visions on the Border" of Luisa Mazza and Christian Zanotto come back in Noto

Following the success with critics and audiences at its first presentation, the compelling installational event "Visions on the Border" by Luisa Mazza and Christian Zanotto comes back in Noto in the evocative setting of the former Santa Caterina Church, during the lively days of the "Infiorata", the renowned appointment of the "Baroque Spring" which will have, in 2016, a worldwide scope.

The artwork "Reflected Drops/ In the Mirror as it is on Heaven", holographic projective intervention of animated digital figures on sculptural structure, has been conceived and realized by Luisa Mazza and Christian Zanotto on occasion of the sixth edition of the prestigious festival "In the Places of the Beauty"; the innovative operation of interaction, presented by a critical text by Massimo Scaringella, shows the dialogue between two different expressive modalities, united by the relationship that both maintain with light, space, transparency and reflectance, to generate the unexpected and ethereal appearance of an empyrean, imponderable and suspended luminous "place".

The installation consists of "Reflected Drops", sculptural construction by Luisa Mazza that stages a contemporary poetics of translucency, lightness, purity and rhythmic harmony, in relation with "In the Mirror as it is on Heaven", projective and holographic intervention by Christian Zanotto where a multitude of digital winged figures, silvery finned angels, livens up in a choreography of movements which fluctuate within a sphere devoid of gravity. The weaving of limpid and crystal clear drops, modulated in the multiple levels of the "atmospheric layers" of flat and curved surfaces, captures and reflects the shining entities, multiplying and reverberating them in the space of the scenographic baroque context, creating a kind of unprecedented and fluid fresco in perpetual mutation.

The two artists, after finding affinities and expressive potentials to explore, have developed the project in three months and virtually crossed the borders in a work of progressive checks and definitions through a relationship of video conferences between Italy and the Netherlands.

As observed by the art critic Massimo Scaringella in the text dedicated to the work: "It is not common that two artists decide to present together and in one environment their creations, transforming them in a single artwork […] Luisa Mazza and Christian Zanotto have accepted this challenge to interfere with each other's work and demonstrate that the viewer can in this way switch to a different dimensional plane of the matter [...] the dynamic and evanescent, but very concrete virtuality of Christian Zanotto meets, in the complex transparency of Luisa Mazza's artwork, a translucent game of universes in flux, in the same way in which a kaleidoscope evokes those multiple and polychrome isolated divine sparks arising from the Neoplatonic One".
